Elvis Tribute Artists from Around the World to Record at Studio B as part of Festival

Over 25 Elvis Tribute Artists from all around  the world will gather on August 9 at Studio B to record two songs – both of which were originally recorded by Elvis Presley in the same studio over 35 years ago.   The Tribute Artists, along with their fans voted on which songs to record and the songs selected were Big Boss Man and Wearin' That Loved On Look. 

All will be in Nashville from August 7-9, 2012  as part of  a small and intimate festival, From Nashville to Memphis, which is drawing fans and Elvis Tribute Artists who are on their way to Memphis for the 35th Anniversary of Elvis Week. 

Built in 1957,  Studio B is Nashville's oldest surviving recording studio.    Closed by RCA and reopened in 1977 by the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, it began operating as a historic site.  In 1996, it was restored to its vintage 1957 look with authentic fixtures and instruments of the times, including the actual mood lights that Elvis had installed and the actual piano that was used for many artists songs.

Among the entertainers who will perform are Auburn, Maine, resident Robert Washington,  Las Vegas resident Travis Allen, Andy Wood, from the UK and Mark Anthony, an Australian.  “I can’t wait,” said Washington, 53. “This will be my first time to Nashville and it’s a whole new venue. I’m an Elvis trivia buff, so I’m really looking forward to recording in Studio B.”

Also featured in the Nashville to Memphis Festival will be Jeff Lewis, an ETA who grew up in Oklahoma and has lived in Nashville for the past 20 years.  “This is going to be a great event and it’s the first of its kind in Music City,” said Lewis. “We have some best ETAs in the world that will be included in this event.  This is a first-of-its-kind event and will give fans more access to the ETAS than ever before.  And the ETA’s are really doing a 360 degree Nashville experience. They will never forget the experience.”

What:  Nashville to Memphis Festival

Where:  Downtown Nashville, TN – Various Locations including the Ryman Auditorium,

Free Spirit Vacations and Events is pleased to produce and present the "From Nashville to Memphis Festival" where over 25 ETA’s (Elvis Tribute Artists) from all over the world will gather in Nashville from August 7-10, 2012 for three days of comradery, celebration and music. They will perform on legendary stages ranging from the downtown Nashville Honky Tonk scene to the historic Ryman Auditorium. Sharing Elvis music and history with fans and keeping Elvis’ memory alive is the goal of each Tribute Artists as they perform a wide variety of Elvis music from the 50’s through the 70’s

The festival is small and intimate. Each fan will receive an up-close-and-personal experience. Attendance will be capped at 600, compared to hundreds of thousands which is sometimes the case.
